Find air travel exhausting? You’re not alone. Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) is home to ‘sound showers’ that aim to help you relax before your flight.

What is a sound shower? It’s sound art for your ears. You stand under it and soothing sounds are played from a directional speaker, drowning out any airport noise.
Norwegian artist Anna Karin Rynander made 11 sound showers for the airport in 2001. A few of them remain in the domestic terminal wing.
Next time you’re at the airport, take a minute to try one of them out. It really is a relaxing experience – just don’t get so carried away that you miss the final boarding call!
