So it’s not exactly a practical location for a spot of golf, but this circle of astroturf suspended 700ft above Dubai’s Jumeirah beach has to be the world’s most breathtaking spot to practice your swing (see video).
The helipad jutting from the roof of Dubai’s Burj Al Arab hotel is usually a parking spot for the super-rich and a platform for the hotel’s PR drives… and this is no exception:
U.S. Open champion (and global brand ambassador for Jumeirah Group), Rory McIlroy recently took a swing off the converted helipad, which comes complete with its own bunker and green.
What the course lacks overall in length, it makes up for in height as the views from the top look quite surreal.
The helipad has hosted many sports stars over the years, including the likes of Andre Agassi and Roger Federer, who practiced tennis on the artificial ‘green’ in 2007.
