Only in Asia will you find planes covered in giant cartoon cats.
Late last year, Taiwanese carrier, EVA Air transformed three of its jets into Japan’s answer to Minnie Mouse – with Hello Kitty adorning the fuselage, seat covers, tray tables, cabin crew uniforms, in-flight meals and even the toilet soap.
And now the airline is giving two more jets the Hello Kitty makeover – bringing its feline themed fleet to five (alongside Magic Jet, Apple Jet and Global Jet).
The two A330s will serve new routes from Taipei SongShan to Tokyo Haneda and Shanghai Hongqiao from May 23.
Who would have thought flying could be so fun?
The airline even has its own website dedicated to the experience, which starts at the airport when you check in at the Hello Kitty self-service desk.
If only they could expand their service beyond intra-Asian routes – we’d love to try it out just for the novelty factor!
