Many travellers pay good money to access airport lounges.
But at one airport in Malaysia, you just need to flash your car keys to get in – assuming you drive a Peugeot.
The car maker is giving all Peugeot drivers a free pass into its new airport lounge inside Malaysia’s Skypark Terminal at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
It’s the company’s first attempt at running an airport lounge, which displays the Peugeot branding on the doors and on its merchandise, including t-shirts for sale.
The lounge provides free drinks, snacks, newspapers and magazines, satellite TV, Wi-Fi access and a meeting room. No car show room…yet.
If you don’t happen to own a Peugeot, a wink and nudge won’t get you in. But you will get free access as a guest if you’re accompanying a Peugeot driver, as long as you’re on the same flight.
Throughout February, Peugeot drivers will need to show their boarding pass and ‘Peugeot Privilege’ card or car keys at the door.
From March onwards, guests will have to show a Peugeot loyalty card.
The lounge is open from 6am to 9pm daily.
