Airspace Lounge to open at New York JFK’s Terminal 5

From May, travellers passing through New York JFK’s Terminal 5 will be able to pay upfront for lounge access – regardless of the airline they’re flying with.

Some good news Stateside for travellers without airline lounge membership: Airspace Lounge, which opened its first facility at Baltimore-Washington International, is expanding to New York JFK Airport’s Terminal 5.

The new pay as you go facility, which will open its doors in May, is aimed at those flying with airlines that don’t have their own lounge at JFK – including JetBlue and Hawaiian.

The lounge will offer free food and drink, Wi-Fi, power outlets in every seat, showers, access to Macbooks and PCs and workspace areas.

Travellers will be able to buy daily guest passes at the door. The entry fee hasn’t yet been announced, but is likely to be higher than the $20 (£13) daily charge at Baltimore-Washington’s Airspace Lounge.

New York will be Airspace Lounge’s third location. The second will open later this month at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
