Officials at Cairo international airport said they found a bomb on board a Libyan Airlines plane that had arrived from the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
A steward found the bomb on Wednesday in a cabinet in one of the plane’s toilets and a team of explosive experts removed the bomb and defused it away from airport buildings, officials said.
The plane was scheduled to return to Tripoli on Wednesday.
Libyan Airlines sent another plane in its place.
It is unclear if the bomb was concealed on the plane in Tripoli or Cairo.
